1718 burnley dylon meredith 00 500x500Having beaten a tough Ipswich side last week to retain third place in the U18 Professional Development League, we kick off the north v north games tomorrow with a visit to Sheffield United.

It’s four wins in five for the young Clarets while for Sheffield United it is one win, one draw and one defeat in just three games played. They beat QPR, then lost against Watford and then earned a point from a draw against Coventry. They were without a game last week.

Last season we had successive fixtures in Sheffield from which we won just the one point. That came at Sheffield Wednesday from a 2-2 draw which followed a 5-2 defeat against United.

We took the lead too through Will Harris but it was 1-1 by half time. Harris was twice close to regaining the lead, hitting the woodwork on both occasions but we then fell 4-1 behind before Dylon Meredith (pictured) pulled one back. Sheffield United finished it off with a fifth.

For tomorrow’s game, kick off is at 11 a.m. and will be played at the Sheffield United academy.
