Having seen another game postponed last week, the under-18s will be hoping to get back into action tomorrow morning with an away game against Crewe Alexandra.

Going into tomorrow’s game, a win could see us move up one place but that would be dependent on the result of the game between the two teams directly above us. Should third place Barnsley  beat fourth place Nottingham Forest, a victory of Crewe would take us above Forest on goal difference with three games in hand.

But, defeat would see us drop at least one place with Crewe currently one point and two places below us in the table. Between us are Sheffield Wednesday who lead Crewe on goal difference but they are without a game. Hull, too, could move ahead of us should we slip up, they are at home to Bolton.

Our current form is good. Having lost our two opening games against Millwall and Bristol City, we’ve since won four and drawn one of six league games and also beat Oldham in the Lancashire Senior Cup.

Crewe go into the game having lost their previous game against Barnsley but they will, as always provide tough opposition although the two away games against them in this league have provided very contrasting results. Two seasons ago we were beaten 5-1 with Bobby Thomas (pictured) scoring our goal but last season we went to Crewe in January and recorded a 4-0 win. Michael Fowler scored twice that day with the other goals scored by Dylon Meredith and Dan Moss.

The game tomorrow is at Alexandra Park, Crewe’s training ground, and kicks off at 11 a.m.
