A week and a half ago, we came from two goals behind to beat Crewe 4-2 in the Professional Development League at Gresty Road, but today the roles were reversed with Crewe coming back from a goal behind to win the game 3-1.

All seemed to be going well early in the second half when Vernon Masara headed us into a 1-0 lead from a Tommy McDermott corner and that remained the score until the seventieth minute when Crewe levelled with an own goal.

From there it all went wrong. With all our substitutes used, we were reduced to ten players when Brad Grant was forced off with an injury. That was with just seven minutes remaining. Two minutes later, Crewe won it with a Will Perry goal and soon after that our substitute Noah Adekoya was sent off.

Crewe scored again in stoppage time to complete the scoring and end Burnley’s run of wins.

The Burnley team was: Lewis Forshaw, Logan Carlin, Benn Ward (Noah Adekoya 65), Joe Ashton, Brad Grant, Tom Tweedy (Basilio Rieno Socoliche 60), Will Hugill, Tommy McDermott, Renaldo Torraj (Ackeme Francis-Burrell 75), Vernon Masara, Mikey O’Neill(Joe Bevan 60). Sub not used: Jon Ander Vilar Robinson.
