Burnley were beaten 3-1 this afternoon by Peterborough United in the Professional Development League, this having gone in front and held the lead until into the second half.

Our goal came with just ten minutes gone when Murray Campbell played a ball over the top for leading scorer Joe Westley to lob the goalkeeper with his first touch and it was a lead that lasted until the fifth minute of the second half.

Donay O’Brien-Brady scored that equaliser and five minutes later, Wakeling gave the home side the lead.  The scoring was complete when O’Brien-Brady scored his second with twenty minutes remaining.

The teams were;

Peterborough: Funn Talley, James Dornelly, Harley Mills, Roddy McGlinchey, Sam Dreyer, Emmanuel Fernandez (Harry Thomas 48), Kai Corbett, Hisham Chiha (Harry Titchmarsh 76), Malik Mothersille (Gabriel Overton ht), Donay O’Brien-Brady, Jacob Wakeling. Subs not used: Jake West, Trialist.

Burnley: Charlie Casper, Alex Healy-Byrne, Dan Sassi, Murray Campbell, Joe Ashton, Will Hugill, Jez Davies, Kian Le Fondre (Lucas Wane 72), Lewis Richardson (Callum West 57), Tom Tweedy, Joe Westley. Subs not used: Sam Waller, Logan Pye, Adam McCoy.
