Under-23s and under-18s to kick off new season against Millwall
The Professional Development League 2019/20 fixtures were released yesterday with both our under-23 and under-18 teams to kick off their respective league seasons against Millwall.
Both teams will have two extra games to play this coming season with Wigan now having been elevated to category 2 status. That means there will be eleven teams in the north group, with us playing all of them home and away, with the same ten teams in the south group against whom we will play home or away.
The first game for the under-23s comes a week on Friday, 9th August, at Millwall. The game is being played at The Den. A total of 14 of our games are away from home with eight of those games scheduled to be played at the club’s home ground.
We played just once last season at Turf Moor but currently we are due to play five of our home games there, including the first two. with the other 11 at Curzon Ashton. Our first home game is due to be played on Monday 19th August against Coventry with a 2 p.m. kick off.
The under-18s get their league season underway with a home game against Millwall on Saturday 10th August, this is at the usual kick off time of 11 a.m. at Gawthorpe but some of the home games will kick off an hour later at 12 noon.
These fixtures, as we’ve found out in the previous two seasons , are subject to change.
