Reading are our opponents tonight in Premier League 2 in what will be our sixth game of the season and our third at home.

The first of the home games ended in a 3-2 defeat against Sunderland, after we’d led 2-0 at half time. That was five weeks ago and was our last game at Leyland with the following home game, the 1-1 draw against Wolves, played on the Turf.

That draw was the first point of the season and we’ve followed it up with a win at Southampton eight days ago which has moved us up to 11th in the table although we still have some catching up to do and are three points behind Newcastle who are directly above us.

Reading, with eight points, are directly above Newcastle. They’ve won twice, drawn twice and lost just once in their five games to date. Their two wins came in August at home against Wolves, who they beat 3-0, and a 2-1 win at Stoke.

September saw them beaten 2-0 at home by Nottingham Forest before, last time out last week, they drew 3-3 at home against Norwich. Having led 2-0, they found themselves 3-2 down before Mamadi Camara equalised in the 6th minute of stoppage time.

Although we played our home games at Leyland last season, this fixture was played at Gawthorpe with us winning 3-1. Anthony Gomez Mancini opened the scoring with Reading levelling midway through the first half with a goal from Jayden Onen. Two goals from Joel Mumbongo (pictured) completed the win.

Kick off tonight at Leyland is 7 p.m.
