Burnley have been held to a 2-2 draw by Birmingham this afternoon in the Professional Development League. It was a game in which we led 2-0 at half time only for the home side to come back in the second half to earn a point.

And seven minutes before half time it was 2-0. Dwight McNeil won the ball for the Clarets and his ball into the box found Jamie Thomas (pictured) who hammered a right foot shot into the net off the underside of the bar.

But Birmingham came back after the break although it took them until the 68th minute to get back into the game when Charlie Lakin scored after Olly McCoy’s shot had been parried away, and five minutes later it was all square with Wes McDonald picking the ball up on the left, coming inside and hitting a powerful shot into the far bottom corner.

It was Burnley who came closest to winning it through Rahis Nabi two minutes into stoppage time but he was denied by Daniel Cleary with a superb last ditch tackle.

The teams were;
