Last Monday’s 3-1 win against West Brom was only able to move the under-23s up one place to seventh in Premier League 2 Division 2 with both Reading and Aston Villa, who kicked off just ahead of us, both winning against north east pair Newcastle and Sunderland respectively.

Wolves, winners at Fulham, and Crystal Palace, shock winners against leaders Leeds, are currently third and fourth. Both have 26 points. Behind them come Reading on 25 and then Aston Villa and us with 24. Fulham’s defeat meant they dropped three  places to eighth.

Those wins for Wolves and Palace have taken them within four points of Stoke in second place with Wolves having two games in hand. Despite their defeat, Leeds still lead the table by ten points.

Taking a look at Division 1 and Manchester City have increased their lead at the top over Blackburn to five points. City won 3-1 at Brighton while Blackburn could only draw against Spurs. Biggest winners of last week were Liverpool who beat Arsenal 4-0. It looks strange at the moment seeing Liverpool record a home win.

This week see us play the same West Brom team who we beat last Monday at Curzon Ashton. This time it will be at the Birmingham FA. The big game in our division is that between Wolves and Leeds. A win for the home side will move them even closer to Stoke who have no game.

The player featured this week is central defender Richard Nartey.

The League Tables  and our Fixtures and Results are both within U23/U18 Stats which can be found on the top menu.
