gawthorpe 2Burnley’s under-23 team have been beaten for a fourth time in five Professional Development League games this afternoon with Cardiff beating us 4-0 at Gawthorpe. Cardiff opened the scoring with an Oliver Younger own goal eight minutes before half time with the other three goals all coming in the last 12 minutes. Omar Bogle, a recent big signing from Wigan, got the second with former Huddersfield and Norwich midfielder Anthony Pilkington scoring the third two minutes from the end. The final goal was scored by Mark Harris in stoppage time.

Burnley: Aidan Stone, Arlen Birch (James Clarke31), Harry Flowers, Oliver Younger, Ali Koiki, Olatunde Bayode (Dwight McNeil ht), Rahis Nabi, Christian N’Guessan, Nashe Chakwana, Jamie Thomas, Harry Limb (Khius Metz 57). Subs not used: Adam Bruce, Mark Howarth.

Cardiff: Lee Camp, Callum Paterson, Rhys Abbruzzese, Jamie Veale, Tyrone Duffus, Connor Young, Cameron Coxe, Greg Halford, Omar Bogle (Thomas Gaydu 84), Anthony Pilkington, Mark Harris. Subs not used: Oliver Byrne, Trystan Jones.
