Our win against Middlesbrough two days ago moved us up one place in Premier League 2 Division 2 in a week where the top two, Leeds United and Stoke City, have moved further ahead of the rest.

We went into the week with Stoke, in second place, holding a four point advantage over Crystal Palace while being ten points behind leaders Leeds. The top two both won last Friday; Leeds won 2-0 at Norwich while Stoke were 3-1 winners at Reading. Monday saw Palace beaten 2-0 by Wolves, a result that saw Wolves move ahead of them into third place on goal difference. Both are now seven points behind Stoke but Wolves do have three games in hand.

In the two other games played in Division 2, Fulham beat Sunderland 2-0 last Friday while Newcastle were 3-1 winners against West Brom in the third game played on Monday. That game saw a change at the bottom with Newcastle moving level on points with Sunderland, leaving West Brom at the bottom.

We are eighth again after ending a run of two defeats with  the 3-2 win against Middlesbrough. Lewis Richardson opened the scoring for Burnley but having fallen 2-1 down we won it with two goals from a trialist who came on as a substitute. We now know that trialist is Sheffield United’s 17-year-old Welsh youth international Ryan Viggars.

In Division 2, Manchester City have retained their three point lead at the top. Blackburn and Spurs were the two teams behind them; Blackburn won 4-1 against West Ham but Spurs have dropped to fourth having had no game which allowed Everton who beat Manchester United to move ahead of them on goal difference.

The player featured this week is Bermudan wide midfield player Ne-Jai Tucker.
