Two young Manchester United players have joined the Clarets after successful trials during this early part of the new season.

Both were second year scholars at United. No details have been confirmed by Burnley which suggests we have likely taken on their scholarships until the end of this season.

Calen Gallagher-Allison, an 18-year-old from Preston, can play in the centre of defence or left-back. He’s been part of the under-18 squad and has played in most of our games this season in the U18 Premier League.

Signing for the Clarets alongside him is 17-year-old Owen Dodgson from Lancaster. He too has been involved in the under-18s this season but he also played in our last under-23 game against Aston Villa, scoring our first goal. He too can play at left-back but also further forward on the left of midfield.

Up the Clarets would like to wish both players the very best at Burnley.
