Burnley have made another move in the transfer market to bring in Brazilian right-back Vitinho from Belgian side Cercle Brugge. He has signed a four-year deal with us.

Vitinho, whose full name is Victor Alexander da Silva, has been with his current club for four years having signed a five-year contract when he left his former club Cruzeiro in Brazil.

He joined Cruzeiro as a six-year-old and eventually made his first team debut for Cruzeiro in May 2018 shortly before his move to Belgium. Since the move, he’s gone on to make 53 league appearances for them.

He now becomes the third player to sign from a Belgian club this summer, following on from Samuel Bastien and Josh Cullen.

On signing, Vitinho said: “I am very happy to be here, it’s a big club, it’s a very exciting place to be. The players, the manager, the coaches, the training centre, it’s great for me and will only help me get better as a player.”

Vincent Kompany said of his latest signing: “We’re pleased to add Vitinho to our team, he’s a quick & strong full-back, who will get forward and can defend well. He has great technical ability and will be a great addition to our squad, we look forward to welcoming him to the team.”
