The West Yorkshire Clarets are set for their July meeting this Saturday and are returning to their tradition of holding a walk when, thankfully, the hot weather won’t be as severe as it was earlier this week.

It all gets underway at 11 a.m. this Saturday, 23rd July, at Hebden Bridge Railway Station, a good starting point for those travelling by train. From there, other walkers can be picked up between 11:20 and 11:30 in Hebden Bridge at the foot of Heptonstall cobble path.

There will be a stop at the White Lion at Heptonstall at noon before the main part of the walk gets underway which will go via Midgehole/New Bridge, following Crimsworth Dean to Top O’Stairs.

From there, the walk will head down Stairs Lane, onto the diagonal path to Oxenhope before stopping for needed refreshment at the Bay Horse (pictured above).

From there a number of options are offered. Walkers can choose to go to Keighley Station by Worth Valley Railway or by bus. The alternative is to continue to walk down  the valley to Haworth before returning to Keighley by bus.

The whole walk will be between ten to twelve miles and everyone is welcome. They would appreciate an EMAIL to confirm interest to determine numbers and to ensure they don’t miss you.

The walk is also open to family members and dogs who might wish to join.
