Walters rejoins training
Jon Walters has been back in training recently but today has joined in with the first team for the first time as part of his recovery from the knee injury that has kept him out of the reckoning.
Manager Sean Dyche said at today’s press conference: “Jon is getting closer. He trained with us properly for the first time today. He’s been doing a lot of work with the physios and sports scientists, so he gets closer.
“He needed to get his knee super strong and he’s doing that. He’s another one who’s a fantastic professional and sure to add to the group.”
There was also an update on club captain Tom Heaton. “Tom is moving forward with his shoulder, now the strength work continues,” Dyche said.
He did confirm that right-back Matt Lowton faces a fitness test before tomorrow’s game at Bournemouth having suffered a knock in the Arsenal game. Phil Bardsley is standing by to potentially make his first Burnley league appearance since 2006.Share this page :
