1516 burnley stephen ward 00 630x420The Republic of Ireland may have lost 2-1 tonight in their international against Belarus at Turner’s Cross in Cork, but it’s been a good day for Clarets’ left-back Stephen Ward who scored the Ireland goal and has since learned he’s in their squad for the Euros starting next month.

It would have been a big surprise had he not made it having been selected in the starting line up tonight and he’s now become the third Burnley player to book a place in the finals in France following on from Tom Heaton and Sam Vokes who were called up for England and Wales earlier today.
