Burnley played a fourth pre-season game this afternoon behind closed doors at Gawthorpe and beat newly promoted Championship club Sheffield Wednesday.

We were in front right from the off with a goal from Scott Twine which proved to be the only goal of the first half. Josh Brownhill doubled the advantage early in the second half with substitute Dara Costelloe completing the scoring close to the end.

That’s wins against League One clubs Fleetwood, Burton and Port Vale with this victory against Sheffield Wednesday. That’s it for the behind closed doors games. We’ve already confirmed away friendlies against KRC Genk and Real Betis with potentially two more to come.

Again, no team information was made public by the club.
