I think Burnley fans are still reeling at how poor the performance was at Newcastle while coming to terms with the lack of activity in the transfer market before the main window closed on Monday.

We were beaten 3-1 and but for a purple patch at the start of the second half when Ashley Westwood equalised, the performance really was abject which has definitely been reflected in the player ratings you can see below.

Westwood led the way in both the man of the match vote and the ratings. He polled 45% of the man of the match vote, way ahead of Phil Bardsley and Ashley Barnes who were second and third with 13% each. Josh Brownhill and Charlie Taylor shared fourth place with just 5% of the vote each.

We had the same top two in the ratings. Again Westwood was the winner with a rating of 5.64 out of 10 with Bardsley scoring 5.40 to take second place. James Tarkowski was the only other player to reach the five required for below average; he scored 5.04 while Barnes was fourth with a rating of 4.94 out of 10.

This means Westwood has won the maximum ten points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year, his first points of the season. Bardsley has won six points and Barnes has collected three points. There are two points for Tarkowski and one each for Brownhill and Taylor.

The next vote is scheduled for the West Brom game which is currently set to be played on Saturday, 17th October with a 3 p.m. kick off.
