We’ve moved on to the title winning season of 1959/60
Just over a week ago we added to some of the pages on Up the Clarets to cover the seasons 1950/51 through to 1954/55 and today we complete the 1950s with five more seasons.
They were a momentous five seasons too at Turf Moor. We saw just 19 players make league debuts but they included Brian Miller, John Angus, Jimmy Robson, Adam Blacklaw, John Connelly, Ray Pointer and Alex Elder, players who were regular players in our title winning side of 1959/60.
It was a period that’s so easily recalled by those fortunate enough to witness it and a period that, for those of us who didn’t, a reminder of just why our football club has such a terrific reputation.
The League Tables for those five seasons have now been added and are all now on the drop down list, as are all the Fixtures and Results which carry all the scorers other than one outstanding from a game against Birmingham.
You can hover over the those sections on the desktop version of the site and then select the season from the drop down menu.
And the Programmes have been added too with some further prestigious friendlies and the end of season tournament in 1960 held in New York.Share this page :
