Younger to seek first team football in Ireland
Another two of our under-23 squad have moved out on loan in the last couple of days with goalkeeper Kai Calderbank-Park joining Hyde United and Oliver Younger going across the sea to Ireland to play for St. Patrick’s Athletic.
Hyde United revealed yesterday that Australian Calderbank-Park had signed for them due to an injury sustained by regular goalkeeper Lloyd Allinson. They reported that they had been forced to move quickly to obtain the services of Kai and said it would be a great experience for him while thanking Burnley for making him available.
Kai made his debut for them last night in the Integro Cup against Widnes, playing alongside former Burnley junior players Kyle Brownhill and Ashley Young. They even had a Dyche on the bench.
Meanwhile, Oliver Younger (pictured) is the latest to go out on loan after his move to St. Pat’s was announced this afternoon. Now aged 20, he’s been with Burnley, the club he and his family support, since aged seven.
He first went over a week ago and trained with his new team mates before completing his move this week which will give him his first opportunity to play first team football for the first time. He said: ““I’ve been really impressed and can’t wait to get going”
The SSE Airtricity League kicks off this weekend with them having a home game against Waterford tomorrow and Younger is expected to be in the squad. He’s joined them until July. His new team will be hoping to go one better than last season when they finished one place outside the Europa League qualifying positions.
Up the Clarets wish both players the very best while they are away from Turf Moor.Share this page :
