Both sides remain unbeaten in the league, but Accrington can go one better than us with a 100% record. We won our first two games against Fleetwood and Tranmere and have followed that up with draws against Preston and Shrewsbury.

Accrington’s season got underway two weeks after we’d kicked off; they’d been away in Holland for a pre-season tournament, and they’ve come back and started with two wins and both away from home.

They won 1-0 at Port Vale and then beat Walsall 2-1 and they are currently seventh in the table with two games on all of those above them.

Last season, although we beat Accrington in the Lancashire Youth Cup, they did the double over us in the league. We lost the home game 2-0 at Gawthorpe in November, then in April we fell to a 3-1 defeat in the return fixture with Tristan Jumeau (pictured) scoring our goal.

Kick off tomorrow at Victoria Park, Nelson is 11 a.m.
