Youth team kick off home double header against Bristol City
The under-18s have three games remaining in the league this season with hopes of a top two finish having all but disappeared, and the first of two home games kicks off tomorrow with the visit of Bristol City.
One point from two games last week means it would take something of a collapse by either Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday for us to finish in the play-off positions, this despite Tuesday’s shock hammering by Birmingham being the first defeat in four months.
It’s more now an opportunity to give some of the younger players coming through more opportunities to play ahead of next season when some of the under-16s join the current first year scholars.
This fixture last season was in April, the last game of the season and was also at home. On that occasion we won 6-0. Ethan Kershaw opened the scoring and Michael Fowler scored twice; he’d come back from injury to score five goals in two games. There were also two goals for Kian Yari and one for Jordan Cropper.
Please note that kick off time tomorrow at Gawthorpe is 1 p.m.Share this page :
