Youth team to test good run against Wednesday
Our under-18s have been in terrific form since losing the opening two games of the season. We’ve won five, drawn one and lost once since and we will now have that tested by Sheffield Wednesday who are our opponents tomorrow at Gawthorpe.
Wednesday are currently two places and four points behind us and we’ve also played a game less, but they will provide tough opposition as Tony Philliskirk’s team look to push closer to those four teams above us in the league. They haven’t played for the last two weeks and in their last outing drew 0-0 against Leeds.
This fixture ended in a 2-2 draw last season with Michael Fowler scoring both of our goals In the previous season we came from behind to win 3-1 with a Jordan Cropper hat trick. He played up front that day but in the following week he moved to right back and has played there ever since.
Kick off tomorrow at Gawthorpe is 11 a.m.
