Youths beaten in cup
Having waited over a year to play today’s Lancashire FA Youth Cup semi-final against Wigan, the young Clarets were beaten 4-2 by the League One club.
We fell a goal behind but drew level before half time with a superb strike from Will Couch, volleying home from well outside the penalty box. But the second half belonged to Wigan who regained their leads and then stretched it to lead 4-1 until Will Hugill scored a late consolation with another effort from outside the penalty box for us to complete the scoring.
The Burnley team was: Harry Allen, Jacson Coppack, Joel Connolly, Finlay Armstrong, Dane McCullough, Jacob Hamilton, Sean Etoluku, Will Couch, Will Hugill, Michael Mellon, Joe Smyth-Ferguson. Subs: George Walters, Rohri Behan, Kade Ratchford, Tremaine Eastmond.
