1718 burnley youth team 04 1000x500The youth team have been beaten in each of the last three U18 Professional Development League games with losses at home against Bolton and Huddersfield sandwiching a defeat at Birmingham two weeks ago.

It’s a run that has seen us drop four places from the top of the league although we still remain just three points behind new leaders Huddersfield Town who went above us into first place when they won 4-0 a week ago at Gawthorpe.

Tomorrow we are at Crewe and they go into the game three points behind us and with a game in hand. Their goal difference is better than ours too so a home win would see them move ahead of us.

Oliver Younger and Dwight McNeil are likely to miss out again having played in last night’s Premier League Cup win against Colchester at Curzon Ashton. James Clarke played much of that game too having replaced the injured Harry Flowers midway through the first half.

With Scott Wilson having been out for much of the season with injury and with both Leighton Egan and Dylon Meredith similarly missing recently, it could be a very young side which kicks off tomorrow.

Kick off is 11 a.m. at Crewe’s Alexandra Park training ground in Nantwich.
