Since Wigan scored an equaliser ten seconds from the 90th minute against our youth team on 11th March, we’ve gone on to win four successive games, scoring twelve goals in the process.

1617 burnley olatunde bayode 00 500x500Two 3-0 away wins against Bury and Morecambe, albeit with the Morecambe game played at Gawthorpe, have been followed by a 4-2 home win against Port Vale and a 2-0 victory over Rochdale, again an away game played at home.

Tommy Wood ha scored six of the goals with four from Nashé Chakwana, and the results have lifted Burnley into second place in the Youth Alliance League, just three points behind leaders Blackpool with a game in hand, although it must be noted that Walsall trail us by one point having played one game less.

With us virtually having seen off Port Vale last Saturday the title will now surely go to one of the top three or potentially Rochdale. All four of us have home games tomorrow against teams lower down the league.

Our opponents are Fleetwood who we beat in the away game 3-1 in the opening game of the season. Dwight McNeil scored the first goal that day with the other two coming from Olatunde Bayode (pictured).

We’ll also be looking to avenge the result of the home game last season when Fleetwood beat us 1-0 in a season when we won only two of the fourteen home games.

Kick off tomorrow at Gawthorpe is 10:30 a.m.
