A win at Newcastle and a draw at home to Middlesbrough have given the under-18s a good start to the season and they will be looking to continue that with another away game in the north east against Sunderland tomorrow.

Despite the obstacles we’ve had to get over, we kicked off with that incredible 8-3 win at Newcastle and were so close to beating Middlesbrough, denied of that only by a 90th minute goal.

We take on a Sunderland team who, despite having conceded one goal less than us, are still searching for their first goal and first point; they were beaten 1-0 at home by Wolves in their opening game before losing 3-0 at Stoke last week.

Last season’s game at Sunderland ended in a 3-1 win with goals from Dylan Moonan, now at Accrington, Sam Unwin (pictured) and Michael Mellon who will be out of the team tomorrow having played for the under-23s tonight at Newcastle.

Kick off tomorrow at the Academy of Light is 12:30 p.m.
