I've been impressed with O'Neil when he has played this season. Maybe not quite up to the standard just yet, but him getting regular game time is excellent news for his development.

Exactly what he needs Sleeping Cat - hopefully he'll get plenty of game time.

Disappointed that he has been sent to a struggling team in league one. I would have hoped that he could have attracted someone slightly better than Oldham but league football is better than being left with the development squad I guess.

Hope he is given plenty of time and can shine in the next half a season for them.

Plenty of game time and then get him back in for a proper pre season. Will do him the world of good.

Only worry from me is that with our focus now being to become an established Prem side - will it be harder to blood our youth players with a worry of dropping points?

I'm hoping that once we're safe (I said hoping) we can maybe give a couple of youngsters we still have a chance to play out the last 15/20 mins.

If we can get safety them bear in mind each extra place is worth substantially more financially. Yes it's easier to blood them in the Championship.

He can make it and this experience will harden him up - make him a man.

He wanted to stay local. He had the choice of 3 or 4 clubs at least but wanted to stay in the North West if possible.

Ideal move for him. Assume Dummigan is still there, who he'll probably know at least in passing, which always helps, and John Sheridan isn't a bad one for O'Neill to learn from given he was a fairly similar sort of player in his time.

O'Neill has plenty of time on his side, and he'll probably have to be patient for a while, because Westwood may well turn out to be a similar sort of player, and when you also factor in Defour and Barton who can play a similar role, we're well stocked in that area. He's got a chance, though.

About £2m per place.
