Re: ARTICLE: Alex Mac becomes a Gill
I wish him well at Gillingham. Like you, CT, I first saw him play for the Youth Team many, many years ago.
He has always impressed because he is a lad who has always given 100% and this will always make him popular with fans at any club. Good luck to him.

I've a lot of time for Alex. Smashing lad who had a difficult time back in 2010 when his mum passed away. I know he got a lot of help from Pash, Vince and Ash Hoskin but he came through it and he's gone on to have a decent career that he's fully deserved.

What is really frightening about that is that it was 10 years ago ---I remember it well.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 5:08 pmI've a lot of time for Alex. More than frightening - January 2006 when I first saw him play in that youth game.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 5:14 pmWhat is really frightening about that is that it was 10 years ago ---I remember it well.

Good luck always gave 100% effort
We went to Torquay to watch a pre season friendly
Didn't he score v Palace when we got thumped 5-1 on the last game of the season

Good luck to Alex. He lived next door to me in the Wembley season and the following one. Very pleasant affable young man. I'll be looking out for Gillingham's results.

It was 5-0. Clarke Carlisle sent off in first few minutes and eventually we played 4-4-1 with Alex up top on his own. He never scored for us.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 7:09 pmGood luck always gave 100% effort

It’s rare that I write something about an ex player moving to a new club and get an appreciative message back from said player. I have today from Alex. I think he’d be very hard to dislike.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 7:14 pmGood luck to Alex. He lived next door to me in the Wembley season and the following one. Having lost my mum in my twenties, at a similar time to Alex, I've always followed his career. All credit to him as it would have been so easy to go off the rails. Good luck to him in Kent.

Re: ARTICLE: Alex Mac becomes a Gill
It was early 2010 when his mum passed away. Losing your mum is one of the worst times you will ever go through. I’m always grateful I had my mum for 52 years so I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for Alex & yourself.
