Is that Will Couch? I seem to recall you mentioning him previously.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 12:54 pmBest of luck to all of them. Living the dream! My brother's grandson is amongst the group so I will especially be looking out for him.
My brother's grandson enjoyed his 2nd birthday yesterday so we've a wait for him if he proves to be a footballer.

It is CT. My brother speaks highly of him(which of course you would expect) but he has a very critical eye when judging footballers and seems to think he has a lot going for him. Keep listening would be my piece of advice but I'm looking forward to see how he does.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 1:54 pmIs that Will Couch? I seem to recall you mentioning him previously.

Re: ARTICLE: Fifteen new scholars sign in
I've seen some of the 15 play already, including him, and some of the others were names familiar because they played last season. Sadly I can't see me watching youth team football for a long time if ever. I can imagine they won't be too keen on letting us back in the training ground even if the world does get back to normal.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 2:43 pmIt is CT. Re: ARTICLE: Fifteen new scholars sign in
Just hope next season isn't to brutal for them. Good life experience I suppose
Re: ARTICLE: Fifteen new scholars sign in
I might well be wrong - usually am - but I get the impression there are more lads than usual who have been in our own Academy than in previous years.
Re: ARTICLE: Fifteen new scholars sign in
15 seems a reasonable number hasn’t there been years when we’ve had less than 11?
Or is the number higher because we’ve lost more second year scholars?

Re: ARTICLE: Fifteen new scholars sign in
It's about funding I think. You can have up to so many but any extra have to be totally funded by the club. We can do that now whereas we couldn't a few years ago. I think the total number we stuck to previously was around 18 over the two year groups.

A Haslingden and Burnley connection then. It's great to see local talent coming to us instead of Rovers and United.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 2:43 pmIt is CT.
