Yesterday we were able to confirm that Portadown left back Dane McCullough was joining the Clarets on a two year scholarship as part of Tony Philliskirk’s youth squad.

Burnley have today confirmed that news while also confirming all of the fifteen new youngsters who will be starting out in this coming season as full time footballers.

Looking down the list, some of the names were familiar to me because I’d seen them play in youth team games during last season; others not so familiar such as Keelan Williams whose older brother Neco was in the news this week having signed a new deal with Liverpool.

Our new boys are

Sam Waller – Goalkeeper
Sam has been with the club for a few seasons.

Keelan Williams – Right Back
From Wrexham, was previously with the Liverpool academy. He’s described as a quick and tenacious defender who has already been capped by Wales at under-16 level.

Jack Leckie – Centre Back
A tall defender who has been signed from Newcastle where he has been for the last three years.

Dan Sassi – Centre Back
Another tall player, signed from Stoke.

Dane McCullough – Left Back
Has played first team football at Portadown and represented Northern Ireland at under-16 and under-17 level.

George Walters – Winger
Signed from Manchester United a year ago, George is a Welsh international at under-16 level. He has pedigree, his dad Steve played league football for Crewe.

Sean Etoluku – Winger
Sean has come through the academy system at Burnley. He can also play at full back or in the centre of midfield.

Jacson Coppack – Central Midfielder
Signed a year ago from Everton, Jacson is a box to box midfielder from Chester.

Will Couch – Central Midfielder
Been with the Clarets from under-14 level and is a Burnley supporter.

Will Hugill – Central Midfielder
Burnley supporter from Harrogate who had previously been with the academy at Blackburn.

Kade Ratchford – Central Midfielder
Been with Burnley for two years having previously played for Manchester United.

Rohri Behan – Winger
Been with the academy since the age of 14 having been spotted playing grassroots football.

Jacob Hamilton – Forward
Burnley born, Burnley fan, been in the academy for a number of years.

Michael Mellon – Forward
With his name, needs no introduction. His dad is a former Claret who is now manager of Dundee United.

Joe Smyth-Ferguson – Forward
Southport born but another who has been with the our academy from a young age.

Up the Clarets would like to wish all of them the very best at Burnley Football Club and in their careers.
