England squad announcement
So this is the 30-man England squad in full:
Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson, Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope.
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Conor Coady, Eric Dier, Joe Gomez, Michael Keane, Harry Maguire, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Tyrone Mings, Bukayo Saka, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker.
Midfielders: Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, James Ward-Prowse, Harry Winks.
Forwards: Tammy Abraham, Harvey Barnes, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jack Grealish, Danny Ings, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling.
The headlines a recall for Maguire, and a deserved call up- for Calvert-Lewin. And no Foden or Greenwood, or Ross Barkley.
How the likes of Dier, Rice & Walker still make the cut is beyond me.
Good to see Harvey Barnes in the squad, plus Keane and Tripps, And obviously Pope.

Re: England squad announcement
Squad basically picks itself.
Let's see what funky formation he plays this time, and who he plays where.
Either way I'm sure as per it'll be an entertaining watch

No surprise that Tarky isn't included, having only played one game and that was last night.
Even Sarfgate can't judge him on that.

Re: England squad announcement
Looking at the midfields, I know the attacking wingers are classed as strikers, but the centre midfield area looks extremely weak.

Southgate teaching Greenwood & Foden another lesson.
Not enough sending them home for their **** up leave them out of another squad as well.

Grealish I see as more an attacking midfielder, so would prefer him in midfield with Henderson and maybe Phillips.

Re: England squad announcement
Maguire got miself into a stupid situation while on holiday and reacted the wrong way at several turns and made a proper mess of things for himself.
Foden and Greenwood deliberately did something that they knew was stupid and illegal while representing England and could very well have made a proper mess of things for the national side.
If you're an employer with two employees, one of whom has accidentally made a pillock of himself while on holiday and the other has deliberately made a pillock of himself while on the firm's business, and the latter was risking the firm hundreds of thousands of pounds, then you'd be stricter on the latter.

I just can’t identify with these players. Who are they? Certainly far from world beaters.

As with most things you’re wrong:Gordaleman wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 3:54 pmThat's like saying that Cummings misdemeanour in Barnard Castle wasn't while he was representing the government.
It was still very wrong and should have cost him his job.
He hasn’t been found guilty. The conviction was squashed. He’s been granted a new trial. United and England are backing him, which implies theres legal justification to so.
Innocent until proven guilty.
Re: England squad announcement
I love how you manage to shoehorn the government into every thread. You even managed to get the government into a topic about kitchen appliances yesterday.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 3:54 pmThat's like saying that Cummings misdemeanour in Barnard Castle wasn't while he was representing the government.

Re: England squad announcement
Maguire and Dier should be dropped on ability grounds ,as should Abraham none of them are international standard
Re: England squad announcement
About half of that squad wouldn’t be anywhere near being England internationals in previous teams.

Bit like you then. You've been saying for weeks that McNeil was leaving (Your Man U ex player mate.) and that you knew what was going on with ALK. If you still think those things are true, show us your evidence. Thought not.

I said McNeil was subject to a bid, and that he’d been courted very closely by a premier league club. He has been, I did think he’d be off, and I said I would apologise the minute the window slams shut. As with many things in life things fall through for a whole number of reasons.
We’ve also asked questions about a number of players in recent weeks. As I said I would rather share a rumour that sit on one and shout ‘told you so’ if it came to fruition.
We’ve asked questions about:
Albrighton as part of the McNeill transfer
Jones as a loan and purchase
Worrall as a purchase
I feel fully vindicated about my foresight into a potential takeover. I have also been very clear that there’s multiple NDA’s in place. One of which has now been breached by an unknown source and has placed this into the public domain. This has caused complications. See my footballer analogy on the ALk thread for further speculation.
I think Ben, Tony, Chester and I etc. have been quite clear with our communication and the limits we each have individually.
It is difficult to share ‘news’ when the naysayers seek to belittle and tear down anything you share.

Southgate says he doesn't see him in that role which means it'll be Mount + two of Henderson, Rice, Winks, Ward-Prowse and Phillips. Pretty dire midfield imo.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 3:35 pmGrealish I see as more an attacking midfielder, so would prefer him in midfield with Henderson and maybe Phillips.
