No suspensions for Burnley players
Following the 19th. game of the season I think that all the Burnley players have escaped a suspension for 5 yellow cards. Westwood and Barnes were on 4 yellow cards but Westwood did not pick up a card tonight and obviously Barnes did not play.

Keeping the back four clear was important. Tarks played very well tonight, up against the likes of Grealish and on a yellow, he wasn't afraid to make last-ditch, goal-saving tackles. Well done Tarks !

I think Tarks just picked up his third yellow tonight

All our yellow cards are shown at the link below. Although Westwood has five, the rules now are league yellows only so he's on four in the Premier League and we have now reached the cut off for the one match bans,

That's not a bad record and no reds for a "bunch of shithouse thugs"

That’s because Dyche has all the refs in his pocket according to the fans of very rich clubs we beat with irritating frequency

It’s hilarious when you see all other clubs fans (and certain players...David Luiz) calling us anti football, cloggers from the dark ages etc.....and we get very few suspensions and very few sendings off....

Yes to say we’re a dirty team is very harsh at the moment we’re 5th in the fair play league

Opposing fans see what they want to see regardless of the facts.
They were always calling out Joey Barton as some habitual red card collecting thug, but I don't recall him ever getting one with us, nor many yellows.

To be fair he was before he joined us.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 11:19 amOpposing fans see what they want to see regardless of the facts.

The above numbers seem high to me. While I'm sure there will be some players with higher numbers Barton will be up there in PL history I would have thought.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 12:54 pmNo he wasn't, 78 yellow and 6 red in his PL career isn't that bad tbh.
There are players with a worse number of reds and yellows out there, even when he was with us, but they didn't get called out as much.

He's doesn't have the most red cards, he's 6th in the list.
He's not even top 10 I don't think for Yellows.
Yet opposition fans can't see that sort of thing.

We have also had some of our own label Bardsley a red card waiting to happen.... it has been a fair old wait
2 reds in over 300 Premier League games

Yes I thought there'd be players with more reds - Keane and Viera immediately spring to mind - but 6th in the list for red cards is still very high if that's all time PL stats.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:09 pmHe's doesn't have the most red cards, he's 6th in the list.

Re: No suspensions for Burnley players
He’s second if you look at just straight red cards rather than two yellows. Considering these all happened before he came to Burnley, by either measure it’s no surprise he was considered a bit of a liability, especially when you throw in his brushes with the law for violence.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:09 pmHe's doesn't have the most red cards, he's 6th in the list.

Thankfully we didn’t really see that side of him. Maybe he’d matured or maybe it was Dyche’s influence.
