Anyone know why there are no league fixtures scheduled for the last weekend of Jan?

I'd assumed it was for the 4th round of the Cup (which I'm sure it would usually be) but it seems this is slated for the following weekend?...

No game 5th February either as far as I'm aware.

Works out well though as Robbie Savage's Macclesfield are visiting Padiham and apparently they are said to be bringing
a good number of fans over - about 800 or so I believe.

Should be a good day out.

It's the "winter break" that the Premier League wanted

Although with all the postponed games that we are having it seems a bit pointless now

Ah the winter break. Where most of the teams will jet off to some middle Eastern country for PR and training camps..

Seems mental having a free weekend when clubs like us are so far behind.

Might mean I’ll get to see us play on my birthday which I’ve never seen happen 😂

FIFA have said that the PL can schedule games during the break if they need to.

Blimey! common sense from FIFA who'd have thought it, however will the PL equally apply common sense.

Don't think it's anything to do with FIFA. It's the PL who have chosen to have a free weekend.

I thought the point of a winter break was so that the players could have a few days actual break? No football, no training? Missing Saturday matches at two hours' notice doesn't constitute a break in those terms, because they're still training full on. Perhaps the manager would still prefer to have the proper break. (Might depend as well, whether we have a fixture scheduled for Cup 4th Round day.)
