Excellent report, however you were getting ahead of yourself just a little...

The only time Brighton seriously threatened was when Taylor Harwood-Bellis blocked a Troy Deeney shot although they did put us under pressure at times through the long throws taken by Mitchell Roberts.

You were unsure the last time it happened when we scored 3 goals in 4 Championship games in a row. I found that in the 01/02 season:

2/9/01 - Bradford 2-3 Burnley
8/9/01 - Burnley 3-0 Rotherham
15/9/01 - Burnley 5-2 Walsall
18/9/01 - Birmingham 2-3 Burnley

Just on Stan - had the absolute pleasure of bumping into him just before Xmas at Tesco. Met him last perhaps 25 years ago and he was still fantastic and looked ever so well. We spoke briefly and I wished him well. A true Burnley legend.

“Not going up through the gears” is being said time and time again. It does appear that we are holding back with all the ball retention at the back but it’s like the old Italian system of slow, slow, quick and it certainly works for us. A joy to watch.

Thanks for the comments on the report and highlighting the two errors which I've now corrected. I don't know how on earth I managed to write Brighton rather than Birmingham. And the Marc Roberts one I had right on the team list but wrong in the report.
