I've never disputed that he's a good footballer. You ought to learn to read what others post. If you think that he's a polished Premier League player then that's fine. I happen to think that currently he's not, but he's clearly got the talent to become so.

Define "premier league player". There's no set standard. He's a footballer who has so far played well in the premier league. It's not a different sport in the premier league. All footballers have good and bad games. Players who have played at that level for years can have a shocker. "Raw at this level" doesn't actually mean anything really.

I already explained what I meant by raw on Monday, I've copied the post again below;welsbyswife wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 8:21 pmDefine "premier league player". There's no set standard. Why is it a lazy thing to say? I’ve been very impressed with Brownhill. He’s got a great engine, likes to drive forward with the ball and has a good tenacity to his play.
There were a number of occasions towards the end of last season where he gave the ball away in very dangerous areas of the pitch, a certain naivety, or ‘rawness’ that I expect he will learn to iron out of his game. Risks that may be worth taking in the Championship aren’t necessarily worthwhile in the PL. The opposition are cleverer, quicker and more clinical.
Hendrick was the same when we signed him, he’d ponder on the ball and before he knew it he would be dispossessed. Charlie Taylor took a long time to look comfortable with the step up. It’s hardly a novel concept and definitely not a lazy comment.
Feel free to disagree, that's what this board is all about. But please don't call it lazy because I've gone to great lengths to explain what I meant by my comment, and you're either purposely ignoring it or struggling to understand. In either case I can't be bothered explaining it you further.

It would be nice to have a player who can score a free kick. I remember watching him play for Derby in the play off final against Villa (live), thought he stood out, neat and tidy on the ball, played as an inverted winger.

I think you need to define "raw", because some of us think he's just fine and can only get better.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 8:05 pmDoes him scoring an absolute worldy against a team at a lower level in any way disprove my opinion of him looking raw at Premier League level? What a daft thing to say. I've already said I have been very impressed with Brownhill so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. If I link the clip of him blazing a volley 15 yards over the bar just 10 minutes before the goal does that prove me right?
Sorry, I didn't see your detailed explanation...which I will now read and hope to understand
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Would not be surprised to see us outbid by the likes of Sheff Utd and Villa now that his availability/price is common knowledgeSkiptonClaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 4:06 pmDon’t think Wilson is the “type” we should be going for. We need more like Stephens, experience by the bucket full, proven characters. Surprised we haven’t made a move for Longy at Southampton (he knows a couple of the lads). Joe Allen has to be worth a shout too ?
Would also prefer a right footed winger so does the Quaison deal now look better if we have additional fund available

Chris Boden tweeted yesterday that the Harry Wilson stories were rubbish and that his 'sources' have told him that Wilson is just 'one of a number of players that the club have looked at' and there was nothing else to the story.
He's now deleted that tweet.

He tweeted saying reports that it was close were jumping the gun, which is still there.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Mearly a puppet, he doesn't or "can't" break any news, so you may aswell follow BFC official on Twitter etc, as they break stuff before him.UpTheClaretsFCBK wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 2:06 pmChris Boden tweeted yesterday that the Harry Wilson stories were rubbish and that his 'sources' have told him that Wilson is just 'one of a number of players that the club have looked at' and there was nothing else to the story.

Why anyone would follow him or listen to him for news or rumours is anyones guess.
He would report that water wasn't wet if the club told him too.
Towing the party line keeps him in work so fair play.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
the one thing Wilson lacks is work rate, the one thing Dyche gets out of every player is work rate. If Wilson wants to improve and become a good PL player then we could well be a brilliant option for him. Flouncing around on the south coast with Eddie didn't do him any favours

An additional wide player. I'm sure he can play both sides and he's more of a winger than a full back. Also gives options to move McNeil around the pitch if the manager wants to change shape etc.

Seems like the Sessegnon one would be a loan only. I can't see them selling him, and doubt we could afford him.

Will at least we're getting linked to signings now, after weeks of silence, whether they'll get over the line is another matter.

That's just it. He's not going to get a game on the left on loan. So it'd have to be on the right.Giftonsnoidea wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 6:09 pmI wonder what the odds are on him never playing a game if he comes in

Rather have Ross Barkley - Chelsea owe us a decent loan!!

Maybe Dwight is moving and thats why he has seemed of the pace last couple of matches, head turned etc. and we need to fill that role before that can progress. totally made up but you never know

Just a thought, but as everyone in football now knows about the potential takeover, and presumed investmet in BFC, it might make us a bigger attraction even during this transfer window. Players who might have turned us down, might not now.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
unless the takeover is more or less done and they see Dyche needs immediate player injection...

Sessegnon wouldn't make much sense unless McNeil were to leave. No point going on loan somewhere to sit on the bench.

I doubt very much that they are as clueless as Venky's. We just have to trust Mr Garlick and I think he's got his head screwed on the right way. He won't sell us down the river, I'm sure of that.

Takeover bid/ very risky....think I'd sooner stay plucky but shite, cant even see why the are intrested in a small northern town club, would be great if it worked but can we really trust our club with... American's ?
