Re: Mike Peters (The Alarm)

Loved the Alarm. Saw them at the Hacienda in July ‘86. I remember it being ridiculously hot but a great gig. RIP Mike.

Just looked that up. See that from the M61 sometimes but it’s a stunning church. The one around the corner from the Turf is less salubrious, I think it’s fair to say!
I live just the other side of the M61 junction. You’re welcome to nip round for a brew anytime after church Alan.

I was born and bred in Fence and remember the rumors flying around that he was buying a house in the area. He might have looked but I never came across anyone who knew where it was or whether he actually bought something.

Off to see A Certain Ratio at the Grand in Clitheroe. Dance the night away to a bit of funk.

Are you from Wheatley Lane brexit, perhaps our paths have crossed?

Re: White swan fence

Wow, grew up just round the corner from the White Swan 40 years ago. Landlord was a nasty piece of work back then. Eventually got to drinking age and he’d never let us in. How times change

Couldn't have put it better myself. Completely Agree
