Re: Where to eat in Burnley ?
Great to hear and read about The Ram being on the up. Stopped going years ago when it became a poor-quality deep-fry and microwave eatery with a take it or leave it attitude. Used to think it was a crying shame given its setting. Will check it out soon.

Re: Society ?
People have been banging on, about how society is broken, well before Aristotle. I bet most on here were young adults or teenagers in the 1960s or 1970s. In those days, older folks blamed most of society's ills on Mods, Rockers, Hippies, Drugs, Glam Rock, Punk etc. Nowadays, people blame social medi...

Over 1,200 jobs at risk
More than 1,200 jobs could be at risk from the closure of a major distribution site in Burnley. Retailer Debenhams has said it plans to close its site on the Heasandford Industrial Estate and "gradually transfer" its online distributions centre operations to Sheffield. The brand, which was bought by...

It's an 'I don't give a toss' society, and it's all ages too. I saw blokes in their mid-sixties squaring up for a fight at the weekend, and it wasn't a town centre pub either, or a what most people would class a roughen. Still think and act like they are fourteen. Pathetic. Same with aggressive driv...

Re: Energy prices
Our energy prices are some of the most expensive in the world. There are gas reserves to be had in the North Sea, and shale gas underneath our feet. Then there's the cost added on for the so-called renewables. How can industry compete when it's being anchored? No wonder our economy is spluttering. N...

Favela? File under Carling dross. Same with blue label Peroni. When in Italy, I don't see many Italians drinking it. If they do have a bottle of Peroni in front of them, it will be the red label stuff which is way superior.

Brussels sprouts are the work of the Devil.
A couple of years ago, we ate out for our Christmas dinner, and a bloke at the next table was loudly gipping while attempting to eat a Brussels sprout. Utter madness.
