Sure I’ll have that tucked away at my mum and dads still... my mum is still politely asking me to take my old Burnley stuff..... my she who must be obeyed takes the polar position, I don’t want any more of your crap here.

I think people forget the effort involved in using cassettes. It was proper hard work, rewinding to the bit you wanted to hear or taping yer songs from the radio or whatever.
Like most things, the memory is better than the reality, but both were great.
Kids these days will never understand.

I’ve just bought the Michael Bentine cassettes of his live chat... wife looked at me sideways and said, “You are getting worse... we got rid of the last cassette player about seven years ago!” I’ll be on eBay shortlyduncandisorderly wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 8:09 pmI think people forget the effort involved in using cassettes. Remember my dad buying it and playing it all the time... I sadly still sing it (well certain lines) to myself (much to the dislike of my wife and kids).
The exert from radio lancs was brilliant ‘Jimmy Mullens claret and blue armada set sail for Wembley a week on Sunday and the promised land’ or at least something similar...
The B side referred to the players if I remember rightly,
Stevie Stevie Davis, our defender Jonny Pender and David Budgie Eyres can’t remember much more of that side of the tape though.

Doesn't matter now but at the time it was a good job we won cos I think our Directors booked the hotel for Wembley after first leg which could have been embarrassing had we lost
Re: Burnley FC Audio Cassette
This has got me thinking. I might have an audio cassette of The Orient Game that was from Burnley General Hospital Radio.

Think one of the lines was “Alright lads it’s Andy Faz”
Was played all the way down to Wembley in my mums Yugo 45 with me and my brother in the back
Wasn’t there another “album” as well or was this the only one?
I remember “DISCO” and some others being on it

Re: Burnley FC Audio Cassette
The claret and blue armada line was from Guy Havord on Radio Lancs. He’s on Sky now. Must have been difficult for him too, he’s a Plymouth fan.KlyBfc wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 8:25 pmRemember my dad buying it and playing it all the time...
