Serious question. If there are 5 candidates and none of them really impress what does Pace do, stick with Bellamy for now and look at a change nearer Christmas if we are not doing well. That would be my preferred choice.
It is too hypothetical… we do not know who the five are, aside from speculation both wild and due to agent agitation. While I do hope Bellamy remains in the setup I do not necessarily think him taking the team into the new season as a Stop gap measure would suit him, the players or the club and would be potentially resigning the club to a season as a dead rubber. An incoming manager at Christmas would not only have to re-shape the team at the most congested part of the season but have to make any incoming adjustments at a notoriously difficult time to bring in any replacements from without the club they deem necessary.

Majority of fans? Might be a small majority on here don’t think anyone can start saying the majority, again dismissing a manager before we even appoint one.😡
Did you not see the vote for the next manager on this website.

Lampard only received 6% , somewhere in single figures , I am not brilliant at maths but I think over 90% not wanting him looks like a majority to me 🤷‍♂️

The vote wasn’t directed in a way to produce the conclusion of ‘not wanting him’. It was ‘who do you want as manager’ with people choosing their favourite/ideal candidate. All that says is over 90% didn’t have him as their ideal candidate.

I have a feeling that northeasrclaret would be able to convince himself that the majority of Burnley fans would not want anyone to become the next Burnley manager.

Not quite true - 6% of the people who voted on this website (not sure of the number of subscribers). That does not necessarily mean the majority of Burnley fans.

That’s a good question and to be honest a very realistic prospect, I’d have thought.

I seem to remember in MtB that Pace spoke about how impressed he was when he spoke to Kompany. I imagine that’s his football philosophy, his knowledge of the game, his attitude, how hard he works, the analysis he does to prepare for each opponent, etc. All that and he was a big name and would be Burnley’s first black manager so help from an image perspective.

I think Kompany ticked a lot of boxes and I just can’t see the candidates so far ticking as many. So maybe he’ll stick father than twist. I wouldn’t be against Bellamy and Jacko being given a shot.

Don't think anybody should be seen to be 'given a shot'. And why would you want to see someone who has never managed in his life before along with someone else who just shouldn't have bothered?

Northeastclaret, could I ask you which, if any, possible future manager appointments, is wanted by 50% or more of Burnley fans. If you can't then the majority of Burnley fans, do not want a new manager, according to your assertion that the majority of fans do not want Lampard to manage Burnley, according to said survey.

If HahaYeah's list of 5 is correct, my choice in order of preference would be, 3rd Lampard, 2nd or 1st Ruud VN or Corberan. Happy with either.
I am not considering any other names only those from that particular list.

Over 50% of Burnley fans want Dyche back, the around 49% want Stan back. 1% want someone else - but 6 of us know it will be Cifuentes

I wouldn’t assume CT knows the five; Bellamy in the mix makes sense or he would not be in situ.

The only reaction to a Kompany last season came at Palace. I was amazed how tolerant the fans were towards him in general and was amazed at the show of support at Spurs with relegation confirmed.

Whether supporters want or don’t want the new manager, I’m certain he will be supported. He will as far as I’m concerned. I’d had enough of Kompany and looking forward to the change even if it’s someone I wouldn’t have chosen.

100 percent agree with all of this

He would be in situ. Him and mj are employees on contracts and were ‘left behind’ by VK. What else would they do? Walk for nothing or stick around and get paid and then become part of new managers staff or have contracts paid up?

Done a very good job at Cov with nothing to spend and could also bring O’Hare with him who is a super player.

RVN imo would be a bloody good appointment.
The modern football club now requires a Big name manager and RVN is known and respected throughout Europe.
In his couple of years at PSV he took them to runners up in the Erediverse and won the Dutch cup.

The Dutchman, lifted the Premier League Title, a League Cup and an FA Cup.

Van Nistelrooy went on to sign for Real Madrid in 2006 and lifted two La Liga titles before he left the Spanish club and went on to play for Hamburg and Malaga.

Now if RVN as I understand has thrown his hat into the ring...AP should really really seriously consider him.

I really cannot see many Claret fans being unhappy if he was our manager.

RVN for me all the way, he's only mid forties as well.

What’s the attraction to Robins? His stats as a manager aren’t spectacular. I don’t see how you could rate him higher than Parker for example. Genuinely interested, not a dig at all.

So what I've posted just makes him an average manager, not sure how many average managers finish 4th in the premier league, that would actually come to burnley. Which ones of those mentioned has done better?
