I said appointing CB would likely to be a reflection on the state of our finances - the cheap option.

Re: Next manager
Anyone using continuity as an argument needs to remember we’d be continuing after a really crap season. I personally don’t want that. I want a fresh start with new ideas to inspire the players to perform.
That’s not to say I’m against appointing Bellamy, but using continuity as an argument is flawed IMO.
I’ll get behind whoever is appointed though and support them.

I'm against appointing Bellamy because it would mean he's the club's last option. If he wasn't, he would have been appointed weeks ago.

Re: Next manager
Why is everyone assuming that IF there has been a flight to meet Bellamy it is to offer him the job? If that happened I would assume it was a courtesy to let him know who his boss was going to be ahead of it being made public and to encourage him to stay with us in a new role next season, nothing more than that.

Re: Next manager
Fingers crossed Bellamy gets the Wales job. Mr Pace would then seek a compensation package, instead of paying Bellamy out, if he has his contract terminated.

The favourites from which will/have be/been interviewed again.
If Bellamy got to the end of the process he’ll now be one of three of four the board can choose from.
So not really last option, just an option.

He’s on the record as saying he wouldn’t want to work the same hours as vk, but by all accounts vk barely slept and was a workaholic.
Bellamy wouldn’t be my first choice but seems a cracking bloke.
There’s a you tube he did whilst waiting to be appointed at Burnley with tube and anges golf life two years ago, well worth a watch.

If Bellamy turns out to be the standout candidate from a list of 100 (or more) potential applicants for the managers role then surely he would be a certainty for the Wales job where the list of realistic appointments can be counted on one hand.Holtyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 5:12 pmThe candidates were narrowed down from a huge list (100 or so names), the favoured ones have been interviewed.

I hope so for him, I think the lesser rigours and time constraints of an international job would suit him, particularly with a baby on the way and he could re-locate back to wales.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 5:20 pmIf Bellamy turns out to be the standout candidate from a list of 100 (or more) potential applicants for the managers role then surely he would be a certainty for the Wales job where the list of realistic appointments can be counted on one hand.

What's the saying " it's not the hours you work, it's the work you put into the hours."
How much of the work was BFC related and how much was dedicated to his MUD analytical business ?

It was a load of PR hot air bullshit anyway.
No one can truly 'work' 70 hours a week. You might be at the office that long, but you're likely being extremely inefficient with your time and repeating tasks.

Don’t think MUD takes a great deal of his time, somebody told me he put the finances up in an entrepreneurial type way to get it started to rival and better what was offered to the top clubs at the time.

You’re looking in the wrong place for info on Burnley’s next manager, the thread title has unwittingly turned out to be cruel honeypot, despite good intentions nobody on here has the slightest inkling of what’s going on.
But if you want to waste an hour or two…

Craig Bellamy, former Premier League goalscorer and Welsh International listening to Mike Jackson.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 2:21 pm[quote=BleedingClaret post_id=2358490 time=1719060145 user_id=319

Not Bellamy above Jackson
No, sorry, just can't see that happening.

Neither can I but I would personally put Jackson ahead of Bellamy
Kompany was one of the best ever Premier League defenders and we couldn’t defend for toffee last year

Re: Next manager
I can see the logic in appointing Bellamy on a short contract and see how he does. He's a winner, he's experienced at the top level and he knows the squad, and more importantly who isn't good enough for the squad. We've got too many players who aren't up to it. We can't afford the luxury of stockpiling potential. We need to move some on.
