To be an official pro you have to have played cricket at Professional level.
When the likes of Ben Heap and Joey Hawke or the Burnley lads that have been local league pros.
They simply go in the overseas amateur camp. Even though they're not overseas.
They can't be classed as a pro.

The only renumeration comes in the form of collections for 50's, 100's & 5 wickets from the paying spectators. Nowadays it's virtually nowt as everyone pays on cards. The collection money either goes over the bar or to charity.

Dave Cartwright has recently passed away having lost his battle against the big C

Dave was a long-time member at the House and also a ST holder at Turf Moor

Some of the older members may remember Dave, 's family from when they ran the Lane Ends in Lowerhouse.

RIP Dave you will be missed.
