In the top division, the top 3 are all doing well. Darwen have Enfield on 54/5 after 20, Burnley has restricted Middleton to 50/3 off 20 at Turf Moor, whilst Lowerhouse have reached 93/1 at Littleborough off 26.

Rammy opener JJ Fielding has hit his 50 off 17 balls before his partner has got off the mark.

50 odd for none after 3 overs.

There is a photograph at Rammy. It’s a mock up of Seymour Nurse who was pro in the 60s. He’s stood in front of the scoreboard which is showing them 50+ without loss when he’d scored every run.

Not a bad cricketer to be mentioned with. (I won't say compared)

Littleborough 98/6

Salpietro has 4 so far. Watching him bowl from a different side from where I usually sit at House. His variations on flight and length and pace are something else. Really, really good bowler.

Quick question: Darwen bowled Enfield out but the League scoreboard only showing them getting 10 points. I thought you got 2 bonus bowling points for bowling out the opposition?

Yes, Darwen will get 12. I'm sure it will be corrected soon.

Meanwhile, another (!) win for the mighty Colne. Beat Rawtenstall by 120+ runs. The pro got 98 and 6-13, so perhaps he's been stung into action after being not offered a new contract!

Pleasure to watch cricket at Littleborough, not sure what was going to be a good score today, not sure it was a great track to bat on, looked slow.

Darwen & Burnley both get 12 and Lowerhouse will be following suit very soon.

Glad the Lowerhouse supporters at Littleborough today enjoyed the experience. And you had a free disco music session to accompany the cricket. As far as the cricket is concerned a pretty comfortable win for your lads. I'm encouraged that our opening batsmen today, who fared well, had a combined age of 33 which must be a League first? Depressing though that doesn't come to half my age!

I think there will be a few clubs offering Jonny Whitehead a pro deal next season, if he carries on at this rate.

Unfortunately he doesn't bowl though and its rare clubs go for a Pro that only bats.
I think hes just glad to be playing and his dad Mark being a big Lowerhouse fan, plus the fact Stan is his his uncle etc...

While the cup final was rained off at Farnworth last year, I walked past him talking to the West Indies great, fast bowler Joel Garner. He was telling him about how he bowls left arm chinaman.
I laughed at the time, but for the last game of the season they let him bowl his left armers and he got 2 wickets for 1 run.

Joel Garner was Littleborough pro in the Central Lancs league but he played a game for Burnley against Haslingden as sub pro. He took eight wickets.

Two tough ones coming up next for Lowerhouse, Darwen (h) and Burnley (a). Darwen are like a steamroller at the moment, seemingly unstoppable, and Burnley's bowling attack is way more than decent!

It's a great setup. Been twice this season now and both occasions have had a party on in the function room..making it quite lively. The music was loud but I don't mind that. I was sat further round near the second scoreboard and it was more thumping bass than anything :D
Even entertained by watching the paragliders circling over Blackstone Edge.

It's crunch time..although I do think Darwen have it more or less sewn up from our point of view. We will need to beat them and hope they lose another two games. Can't see that happening. Apart from the blip at Rochdale last weekend we are in great form so there's no better time to play them both.

Littleborough CC is a great place to visit.

The 11:24 train was cancelled due to the drivers strike.

Had to watch the live stream which was very good.

The House pro was superb with the ball. All sorts of variety. I hope we can retain him.

No Darwen either, perhaps Darwen and the Car Park CC prefer experience. Ask Vinny K youth is not always the answer.
