I agree. i dont like foster full stop - he's not a striker that's going to get us up

Bordering on Kompany tactics? Don’t be so disrespectful we’d have been absolutely peppering this lots goal under VK. Did you forget our Championship season? 101 points? Scored goals for the absolute fun of it
Same again I'm talking about premier League tactics not championship just nothing football no threat or willingness to bloody shoot that was absolutely dire , and I want better than that and if sp doesn't make changes and we don't win I will be massively pi##ed off

I don't mind his work in the box, but his movement inbetween defenders is awful. He plays to his weakness, which is to show short with his back to goal. So many times we turn it over when he mis-controls it. He's great running towards goal, it just doesn't happen enough.
I can appreciate that, especially when we're playing this slowly. I would prefer Flemming, as well. I just thought the level of slagging off he was getting was excessive.

We rely on our pace up front and can't use it when teams pack their defence. If we don't score early on to draw them out it becomes a slog.

To give VK some credit, he was always brave enough to change things if they weren't working, quickly and often. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not but he always had a go.

I hope SP is similarly brave, hopefully changes at the break. Some ego's need bruising today.

Apart from the 1-1 home draws to Watford, Stoke and Hull where we were absolutely crap, and the 3-3 against Blackpool.
We were crap in more than just them games - Rotherham both games we were poor, just had Benson to dig us out with moments (happened quite a lot).

The period where we really started to dominate was the Blackburn game onwards

It's also really to see who has a clue about football when we play teams that sit in.

Foster is isolated and is getting doubled up on all the time - what he needs is clever players playing between the lines to give the defence questions to answer - then the space will open up for him.

Koleosho needs to do more and prove that he isn't just a one-trick pony... we need creativity from our wide players, not just direct running.

Worrall is fine defensively but makes Michael Duff look like Franz Beckenbauer.

The football understanderer has logged in.

Was it the doubling up on him that forced him into the (unforced) errors of swinging wildly and putting the ball into row z when anyone who has played football at pub level could have told you it wasn't sitting right? Or his other snatched at chances?

Correct subs for me.

Although Foster has been poor, he needs to stay on and actually play up front.

That's not what I inferred either.

I inferred that when playing against a team that sits in, we need players playing between the lines to create space/cause indecision in defenders that will open space up for Foster.

Hopefully Flemming and Sarmiento will change the game.

Also notable before that, flemming actually tried to run in behind and hey presto, it created space deeper.

If Foster can't do it, Flemming simply has to start either with our without him.

Foster will score goals if given the service.

He's not a striker that's going to have intricate link play. Needs to form a partnership with Flemming.

Attack, sideways, back, attack, sideways, back. Pompey are doing Dyche 101 defending and fair play to them

We are frightened stiff of going through the middle.
