Nothing irrational about it, he stayed well beyond his time with us and should have been sacked sooner.

I didnt like his football style, favouritism to aging workhorses, his ego (especially after he left us, wasn’t exactly complimentary)

Basically could see right through him. The irrational view is the people who treat him like a god. Yes he had a couple of good seasons with us but some also very bad ones.

I find his failures humorous as I know it will be hurting his ego and as a bonus the nuthuggers get wound up about it.

We came tenth in the PL in 2019/20 probably the 2nd best performance of any Burnley team since the 60s. After that the board stopped investing in players and the club was sold.

Prior to the ALK deal Sean Dyche and the previous owners Burnley was the best run club in the history of PL.

No other small club you can think of got into Europe with no external investment and had tens of millions money in the bank.

So, unless you can come up with some facts then your opinion is irrational.

Dyche worked wonders here on a shoe string budget. While he did have faults as a manager, he did have great success here.
I feel like he's gotten the label of producing results with limited/no funds. The monies within the last few years have gotten insane, but he probably looks at burnley now and asks , "why did I not get these kinds of funds when I was manager?" . I know its a different owner, but we have certainly opened the checkbook for players.

I think he's a dead man walking and probably should go.

They've just played most of the top 6 so it's harsh on SD but once this level of momentum against the manager starts to develop then I think it can only get worse.

From the owners perspective they can now get someone in on a theoretically easier run of games. And from Sean Dyche's, I think most people in football will consider he did a decent job albeit he has re-enforced his reputation as someone who plays a more direct type of football (to put it politely).

The job of a manager is a hard one. The job of a manager not backed by decent funds is particularly hard.
Anyone who does not recognise that Sean Dyche did an exceptional job at Burnley demonstrates a significant lack of understanding of the realities of football.

It seems the curtain could be coming down on Sean, and it must be unsettling to be openly hearing that WHU and Everton are both keen on appointing Potter. Potter is meant to be considering an offer to join WHU but only until the end of the season. He was offered the position in Summer,and also offered the managers role at Leicester, but wanted more time, and Leicester ran out of patience. You would have thought someone who has been out of work for two years would need the minimum of time to decide . Personally I think Potter is relatively unproven and I doubt whether he could get a better tune out of Everton than Sean has.

Sky last night showed that Everton have scored just 26 open play goals since the start of last season (and one of them being Muric smashing the ball straight into DCL). Ignoring the 3 newly promoted teams, the next lowest was on 56.

I haven't checked this for myself but according to someone on Twitter, in the same timeframe we scored 29 from open play.

Once upon a time a manager would walk away when they knew their company wasn't wanted, not now though, they don't care, they'll spin the same old crap at press conferences and literally sit it out until they're sacked and therfore compensated.

Probably right.
Don't know where he will go next or who Everton can offer the job and make sure they stay up.
The best scenario for Dyche would be to get sacked and then whoever gets Everton relegated. That way he will be seen as a good guy at the end of the season of which that is not in doubt.

Have you decided what will fill the void in your life while Dyche is out of work ? Will it be back to Lewis Hamilton on the receiving end, at least with him it is staring everyone in the face what it is you don't like about him.

Everton were and still are a basket case. I'm sure the new owners will invest but it's not happening overnight.

Was always going to be an extremely difficult job for anyone. Everton fans have given him a lot of stick, unfairly in my opinion. He's done ok and I'm not sure what their fans were expecting after the mess they've made if it over several years before Dyche.

Pretty much guaranteed his time is up though it would seem. As for his future, the media have never championed him. They didn't give anywhere near as much credit as he should have received for the job he did here. Cant see him getting another PL job at the moment.

You’re using a football manager getting the sack as a yardstick for success. A strange measure in an industry where being sacked is, barring a handful of exceptions, an inevitability.

You’re ignoring the success that he brought to the club, the promotions, the years of Premier League football, a brief foray into Europe, stabilising a club that was in financial peril, prioritising the development of a new training facility, to name but a few.

Yes, it eventually ran its course, but worth remembering that he was also hindered by the club limiting spending to aid the sale.

If you see what Dyche brought to Burnley as a failure, you might as well pack it in now because it ain’t gonna get better than that and certainly not for such a sustained period of time.

The main argument I had about Dyche was his complete unwillingness to drop a badly performing Barnes at the time. He would stick with his favourites when we had better players sitting on the bench. I often wonder why, for instance, JBG was so frequently ‘injured’ under Dyche but was remarkably injury free once he’d gone. I don’t know and we never will but I think there was a problem there that was nothing to do with injuries. But that’s just a supposition.

JBG missed 156 days of football, injured, in the 2+ years after Dyche left. (And his last injury before that was having his appendix out. I'm not going to believe that was faked!)

The overriding problem is not enough of them are being scored by Everton. By any means.

Only Sheff U last season and Southampton this season have scored less.

To be fair his sacking from Watford was totally unjustified and although he got sacked from Burnley it was only because things had got a bit ‘stale’. We had some good years under Dyche and he will be fondly remembered. I did think it was time for him to go but he did a good job for us for a long while. I can’t comment on the situation at Everton but he does seem to be making the best of a bad job.
