Negrito isn’t racism in South American culture.
Yeah. I'm sure Suarez meant it as a term of endearment.

I read somewhere he used a similar expression when addressing glen Johnson & nothing was made of it.

PNE still one step short of Liverpool’s shenanigans wearing T-Shirts to support Suarez, who openly admitted he had called Evra ‘negrito’.

Osmajic clearly of the same characteristic volition as Suarez and hopefully receives a similar length ban.
Suarez didn't admit to this, it was a story Liverpool invented in the aftermath because it wasn't as bad as the truth. He admitted he'd directly abused Evra for being black.

Doesn't make a difference to your post but hopefully stops an unproductive and transparent argument by others about if "negrito" is racist.

No he wasn’t the result was not proven as there wasn’t enough evidence to prove him guilty or innocent. I don’t think what he said was ever doubted it was the context that it was meant in that was questioned.
If it had been a court of law then the verdict could only have been 'not guilty'. "Not proven" is a halfway house verdict only used in Scotland, it allows for a 'double jeopardy' recharge for the same offence should further evidence become available at a later date.

The FA's tribunal do not need to have such clear proof of guilt as it is only a civil charge.

We'll never know for certain regarding jay & bong & this incident regarding hannibal. The concept of deciding things on the balance of probability doesn't sit comfortably with me because I like things to be decided on a 100% basis not he said this & he said that. If you have irrefutable evidence show it & charge him.
Then every sleaze would be at it, hiding behind your cover of “it’s not 100% so I’m innocent”. Just say it close enough to a player with hand over mouth and you’d know you’d get off.

Well thought, Einstein.

Even if there was proof that Rodriguez hadn’t racially abused Bong, which there wasn’t, it’s quite a leap to claim that Bong had made it up. And booing him for reporting what he thought was racist abuse is as stupid as the PNE fans who would boo Hannibal.
There isn't a language in the world where holding your nose then wafting your hand in a smelly motion means anything racist, he said his breath smelt but even if he was saying Bong smelt it isn't racist, clear as day. He made it up

You don’t know that he made it up though, you’re just making an assumption. So if you booed Bong for reporting Jay you’re as stupid as the Preston fans who would boo Hannibal. It’s really that simple.

Be a tough day for the mod on their forum, when this news first broke comments along the lines of "so what if Milly used his colour to mock him he is that colour" "lets hope someone breaks Hannibal's leg in the cup game" as well as someone using the N word all for a few laughs. These were all tolerated until he decided might be better to remove the comments rather than the people making the comments. Seemed he finally realised wasn't the best look and banned everyone from discussing it.

Osmajic showed his level of intelligence when claiming what he really said was "bad man" be amazed if there is a single person including Osmajic himself who truly believes that is what he said. His actions on scoring said everything about him and his manager was just as bad hoping the incident would add some spice to the atmosphere.

Look at my previous posts when it happened I said then I don't see how the FA can charge Osmajic unless they have video proof none of us have seen because it cannot be proven. I think he did say something but I'm not sure how it can be proven and him being labelled a racist and banned just off one person's word unfortunately. I don't see the comparison with Jay though as he clearly doesn't say anything racist whether he's saying Bong is smelly or his breath smelt, none of these are racists. I wasn't one who booed Bong but I can't see why people did.

I've watched the video back this morning you can still get clips up on YouTube, nothing racist at all is gestured or said. I didn't boo Bong but I can see why fans did he lied.
I've also nothing against Preston fans defending their own and booing Hannibal because unless we haven't seen clearer footage then it's just his word against Osmajics.
I think he said something but I've said all along it cannot be proven.

Not sure I fully get the Jay/Osmajic comparisons. If I am trying to be objective (which is difficult as we all wear Claret tinted glasses), it always seemed likely that Jay never said anything racist or at the very least, never intended any sort of racial insult.

Osmajic on the other hand, claiming that he said 'bad man' is almost laughable. I know we all love a s*** house if they play for your team, but if he is found guilty, it will be very interesting to see the PNE fans reaction to him. As someone said above, any normal job and you get sacked for that.

Disgusted in delay and his answer won’t mean that this is the date of his hearing so they let him play against Villa.
Any ban would then only be in meaningless matches this season

You could argue that PNE have little chance against Villa and that it is less significant than the league games.
In the next month or so they play quite a few teams who have a lot to play for including DL on April 12th.
Of course. I'd like to see him get a lengthy ban, but I don't think that it really matters when it starts in terms of him missing "meaningful" games.

Have a bid on his match worn shirt, if you fancy. Worryingly, it has the highest bids of all the shirts they're auctioning from that game..

Jays case was about context not what he said Bong felt he was saying he smelt because he was a foreigner where Jay said it was his breath he was saying stink! The comparison is simply in fan reaction we are reacting exactly the same as the Brighton fans did: sections of our support will call Osmaric racist even though he has only been charged by the FA nothing has been proven yet, even if it comes back he wasn’t guilty some sections of our support will still call him racist as per Brighton and Jay. Preston are acting exactly the same as we and West Brom did with Jay calling the reporter a liar and will no doubt boo him whenever he goes to play there exactly as we have done with Bong.

The point is Hannibal and Bong reported something that they believe is racist which they are entitled and should be encouraged to do and are/ will/ have been unfairly chastised for it.

Jay and Osmiric are being/ have been accused of racism Jays result was not proven which I suspect will be the same for Osmiric. Osmiric is only currently charged but we are treating it as if he is already guilty and if as I suspect it comes back as not proven there will be still Burnley fans calling him racist as Brighton do with Jay. Preston will always boo Hannibal because they se him as a liar just as we do with Bong.

When it comes what he mentioned that he said, let’s be clear none of us know for definite what he said. That said if he was a native or good English speaker I would 100% agree that him saying “bad man” is not credible but he isn’t any of them he speaks poor/ basic English. Not sure if you have heard any foreign people speak bad English and getting the direct translations wrong, this could be an explanation for him using them words. Not sure if I believe him if I am honest although it is possible, but I will keep an open mind until we get the result.

We might be similar ages.
I too remember generic, casual racism towards Asian people, because “ they all smelt of curry”
It was fairly mainstream. My memory isn’t what it was, but aim sure there was an episode of “Budgie” in which the Iain Cuthbertson character, Charlie Endell, was involved in smuggling illegal Asian immigrants. The Budgie character (Adam Faith) was looking after a group of them. His reaction when meeting them was along the lines of “ Phew, they all smell of curry “.
I can see why accusing a person of colour of being smelly would have racist undertones.
But, as ever, this is my opinion, which I seem to share with Row x. I have no empirical data to prove it.
A bit like the Osmajic allegations at present.

The way things are going we seem to be on a slippery slope with thinking things & not knowing for sure. I'm all for stamping racism out whenever & wherever possible but also believe that people might not be racist even though people think that they are. I work on facts.

You couldn’t get two bigger conniving pr1cks than Heckinbottom and Risdale. How convenient when his suspension comes in Preston will have nothing to play for and hopefully out of the cup, although if still in the cup I am sure they would appeal so the thug can play in the semi final.

Like Osmajic , if there wasn’t clear footage of him doing the bite they would have denied he did it like Osmajic did until the footage came out.

Preston as a club really gone down in my estimation now.

This is highlighting the problems with the FA more than anything else.

No-one is coming out of this in a good light especially the FA and their lengthly processes.

This should have been nipped in the bud immediately, for it to continue to this point and the accused allowed to extend the process is frankly mind boggling and proves football as a professional sport is governed by an amateur organisation.

Now we have finished playing them, I think his ban should start next season.

Feckinbottom has always been the same. His whole mode of operation is based on sharp practice. Or cheating, if you prefer.

This. He even looks like the child catcher in the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Any further word on where we are at with this. My understanding was that he had till late March to appeal against the charge but not heard anything since?

What injury would prevent him from appealing?

Trying to time his pending hip operation with his inevitable suspension.

Disgusting conduct from Heckingbottom and Risdale , on such serious allegations.
