Good luck to him, he’s been an excellent servant, but I’m not convinced we’ll miss him at this level to be honest and part of me is glad we’ve not committed to the huge wages it’d have taken to re-sign him.

Short sighted if he goes there for the money. I think his career at high level will end a lot quicker if he goes there now so the extra money he makes in the short term will probably turn into a loss eventually. Especially when including all of the expense moving will involve.

If it's a lifestyle move then fair enough.

Both pay in USD, all Toronto based sports teams pay in USD and have to offer compensation over the going rate due to higher taxes and constantly clearing customs which is a pain in ar*e. Crime rate is the major difference, in 2024 Chicago recorded 521 homicides, Toronto 86 Toronto isn’t the city it once was, but I know where I’d rather live and play football.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that most of the murders don't involve exceptionally rich sportsmen living in the leafy suburbs or city centre penthouses.

I was lucky to visit Chicago on a work trip a few years ago and found it to be a really cool city. There was very much a ’make sure you turn left out of the hotel, definitely not right’ vibe about it though.

I wouldn't be worried because Trafford would not be playing with the shocking defence we had and Kompany as manager. There was little wrong with Trafford's performances in the PL. The problem was too many UTC posters were besotted with that clown Muric and over exaggerated how Trafford was performing.

He really didn’t. In the PL I observed him on numerous occasions making a token jog back to assist his full back, it really was unacceptable at times. That lack of workrate and discipline was tolerated at times by VK though, and the reason it was so clear to see was probably due to the preceding years watching the total opposite under Dyche.

Like I say, he improved this side of his game last season, but most of his off the ball work was pressing in the opponent’s half rather than ‘tracking back’.

Nobody was hung out to dry or terribly handled by Parker.

No. Trafford was shocking. Even in pre-season they had 2 games each, Muric kept a clean sheet against Benfica and made saves Trafford cost us a goal in both of his. The season started with the defence in front of him having no confidence in him and he didn’t help matters with his performances. Thankfully he showed his true potential last season.

Probably one for the Trafford thread but feel free to highlight his ‘shocking” mistakes which cost us goals in the EPL and let’s see whether they compare to the ones Muric made in the EPL for Burnley (and Ipswich)
