It is a fact that we are potentially in the next round. I'm not sure why you keep insist on picking a fight but since you clearly know better than me what I think, you'll doubtless be able to tell me.ClaretTony wrote:Started referring to the potential next round which is hardly factual. Thank you for taking my word for it. I have now re-read it. I can guarantee it was not intended to be critical of any individual or either club as I don't know the details. If I was to be critical of anyone it would be UEFA as that's where the root of the issue lies.ClaretTony wrote:I’d just re-read your post if I were you. I think the problem now lies with Aberdeen given we’ve sorted their tickets for the Turf. Interestingly they’ve got to submit travel & accommodation details when buying tickets.thatdberight wrote:Thank you for taking my word for it. I have now re-read it. It's a bit harsh to have to give travel details when they don't even know if they're going to get a ticket!ClaretTony wrote:I think the problem now lies with Aberdeen given we’ve sorted their tickets for the Turf. Gutted as we wouldn’t be going and seems unfair to introduce a different process for UEFA matches.

Just found it on their site, it reads: "Please note, travel and accommodation details for each attendee is required before tickets will be issued."Leisure wrote:It's a bit harsh to have to give travel details when they don't even know if they're going to get a ticket!
Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
Why is there a delay with regards to Aberdeen sending tickets?
Surely it can't be that hard to send 2030 down to Lancashire. Unless they've got us mixed up with Lanarkshire!

So from that it seems that we can take it that Aberdeen/EUFA are quite happy to encourage fans to book travel/accommodation without any guarantee of a ticket which will inevitably result in many fans traveling without tickets! Crazy!ClaretTony wrote:Just found it on their site, it reads: "Please note, travel and accommodation details for each attendee is required before tickets will be issued."
Or if you've got to purchase a ticket but can't collect it without evidence of travel arrangements what if you were going to drive down, how is someone supposed to prove that?

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
Issuing and purchasing the tickets are different. Quite possible to allow purchase and then check when tickets are picked up. Presumably they're just trying to enforce the ticket being used by the purchaser. Although it's rather pointless. A cancellable booking for a hotel anywhere South of Glasgow and a picture of your car are hardly difficult to rustle up.Leisure wrote:So from that it seems that we can take it that Aberdeen/Europa League are quite happy to encourage fans to book travel/accommodation without any guarantee of a ticket which will inevitably result in many fans traveling without tickets! Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
It's a box-ticking exercise the club need to go through at the request of the police. Burnley will be our 12th European away game since 2014 so we're well versed in the requirements to get our tickets. Technically they ask for your travel details before collection of ticket (so you can buy it then arrange travel) but in reality everyone just arranges travel anyway and gives them the details while buying the ticket. It's a risk you take yourself booking stuff before getting a ticket.thatdberight wrote:Issuing and purchasing the tickets are different. They just ask for travel and accommodation details, they don't ask for any proof. Usually passport number is required too but obviously not for this trip. They then pass all this info onto the police.

Don’t know anything about the Sunderland system but a rolling 5 years would give access to younger fans whilst not detracting from the long term diehards.claretrobo1 wrote:So, correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t Sunderland tried a system where loyalty resets after 3-5 years so it gives an idea on the more active and loyal fans at the time? Has it been a success and surely would it be a much fairer method? I get that every system will screw some people up but at least it doesn’t eliminate the younger generation completely?

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
I'm in favour of some tinkering but you have to be honest about it. For a small number of fixtures, it would be to the dtriment of the long-term diehards (where "long-term" starts, purely due to happenstance, in 2004). They would no longer be in an exclusive club which are guaranteed tickets for every match. Since the club don't release such information, you can't say to what extent it would be diluted, but any 3 - 5 year "top bracket" must be larger.piston broke wrote:... whilst not detracting from the long term diehards.

Not sure if you’re being serious Spijed. I’d guesstimate out of my fway winds who go to many games, all home and a number of away, only 20% have got one.Spijed wrote:Did they get down to the 5000 band?

This isn’t a dig at the loyalty system- just an observation
Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
Hopefully if we progress we'll get a few games that are a bit harder to get to! Sounds ridiculous but it's the only hope for lots of people getting a ticket before the top cappers take them all.

No, we knew when they opened but had to wait as one of our family was in the 5k bracket. The club must have known yesterday that they'd sell out this morning but instead of telling anyone they bizarrely added a further priority period of 5k points starting on Monday.mickleoverclaret wrote:Are you on the mailing list? If they just communicated properly, everyone could make an informed decision on what to do. As it is, people who wanted to go and could have gone have missed out, which isn't fair. Its really simple stuff and there is no good reason why they couldn't give out that info.
They've even told someone that they are going back on sale today, minutes after they'd announced they were sold out. They're a shambles.
Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
Ad above, no they did not get to 5000. They kept it at 6000, until sold out.
For those at the ready, at 9.30, with 5k pts, thinking their time had come...It did not. Another breach in the stated process. Why should lazy folk with extras, get additional chances, at the expense of those, whose turn it was?

They didn't go on sale today, it changed dead on 9.30 to sold out so of anyone with 5k points got tickets before then, it's yet another cock up by the club and the person responsible should lose their job.
Ticketing is such a simple, basic thing to get right, there's really no excuse.

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
Another couple of huge balls up by the club here.
Firstly, the social media person who has clearly tweeted they would go back on sale today, 4 minutes after they announced they had sold out, and has subsequently ignored all questions on the subject, should be out of a job. Absolutely shambolic.
Secondly, the communication from the club appears to be a complete nonsense again. I don't think they care, either.
