I do t think Wood would fit in this side at all. He’s more Barnes like (admittedly better) than he is Jay like and Barnes looks like a fish out of water with how we play.
Vydra on the other hand would have been very handy in this set up.

Re: Zaroury
I wonder if Vydra is still doing his acl rehab here. He would have a field day with these balls played along the edge of the box. Would be good to get him on board when he is fit.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 12:41 pmI do t think Wood would fit in this side at all. Re: Zaroury
I don't think it was overegged. His first few games he was like a headless chicken, ran everywhere but no end product. His shooting and crosses were all over the place.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 12:34 pmI often thought the early criticisms of Benson’s final ball were somewhat overegged as often he’d deliver a perfectly serviceable ball into the area and there was often just nobody there.
What can't be denied is how much he has improved. He still runs around, but a lot more controlled, and his shooting and crossing is loads better.
A massive asset to the team now, and a real match winner.
