Gudmundsson suffered a couple of bad tackles today.....came out of it OK.

Thoroughly professional performance.
A bit lucky at the start with penalty & Cork non foul, but certainly worthy of the 3 points

QPR are bottom of the form table - just one point and one goal from their last six games.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 3:28 pmFully agree. I can’t get over how poor the championship really is.
QPR are one of the better sides and they were abysmal. We should win this league by 10-15 points. Sheff United are the only other remotely decent side.

Just seen highights/goals on Sky Sports.
Got to say three excellent strikes for the goals.
Doesn't seem as if the break has had any adverse affects
and we've still got Zaroury to come back alongside
Twine, Churlinov, Westwood to make their mark.
It's looking good approaching the half way stage.

Impressive return to action that, and sounds like we strolled it, I wasn't sure how today would pan out after the lengthy break, however we just continued on from the Blackburn victory.
Still loads of footy to play, but on the evidence of our last 2 outings where we've swept decent sides aside 3-0 , and could have won by even more we look strong favourites to win this league, perhaps Sheff Utd will remain a title threat, but we now enjoy a healthy advantage over the rest, and look a class apart at this level.
And all without Benson and Zaroury to boot.
Clean sheet is also welcome to put the icing on the cake.

Just can’t believe that Blackburn are 3rd in the league. They were absolutely abysmal against us, and even worse at home to PNE yesterday. It’s a strange league is this, Luton and Rotherham both looked ok at the Turf, but neither currently anywhere near the top 6.

Three top draw finishes. Can't critique the team's performance today at all.

To be fair take your pic of the rest of the teams. They are all miles of premier league quality. Only other remotely decent side is Sheff United.
We should walk this league at an absolute canter. Promoted in March.

Tella has an amazing ability to score goals from very tight angles and he anticipated a mistake between their GK and Dunne superbly . The Maatsen goal was incredible and we wont see a better strike all season a ta ball that came out fast to him and at some height. JBG's direct fee kick goal is the first we have scored in several years, maybe Robbie Brady's FK v Chelsea

This was brought up many years back in CR7s first spell at ManU. The consensus, from the refs , was that if you had to avoid a leg to protect yourself it was a foul.

Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
They were a very good side until Beale was linked with Wolves. The fact he took the interview before declining must have affected the players as they’ve been off it since.
I see Critchley was announced as the new manager straight after the match. He was touted all week but mustn’t have wanted to start with a home defeat,
