All well and good Sunderland and Leeds spending money on talent from overseas but this is a guy who was won the PL numerous times, all the cups, Champions League, performed on the international stage for years and is even still part of the set up. The experience alone is worth 2 years wages let alone the clear talent he still has.

Ekdal is a better player. Sadly parker sent one out on loan last season and kept the other for back up. Parker knows better than us I suppose though

Neither would have played much, and Worral brings a lot more experience, and he's a good character in the squad. I like Ekdal, and playing regular abroad would have done him a lot more good than sitting on our bench.

So is it not more than likely that most of those add-ons will now have taken effect, given that the first was likely promotion under vk, and then the next to be in the full England squad etc. A further one may have been appearances based in the Premier league, which he may not have reached and could well have actually been the reason he was dropped for muric, just asking. But I'd take a guess we're not far from the £19m.

We signed him after we got promoted with VK. Then MURIC was dropped who was our Championship winning keeper under VK.

Likely a add on for an England 1st team call up but he hasn't started for the first team. It's conjecture, but I am pretty certain we haven't paid £19 mill for him.

He’s definitely not the player he was, but he’s still a fantastic athlete and for our ambitions (finishing 17th), he is probably the best possible right back we could possibly get. I can’t think of anyone even remotely close that we know will perform at that high of a level.

Not sure how 2 years is a risk? If we drop, he plays at a lower level in the Championship.
